This is the privacy policy for Seniors Kit. We have tried to write it in plain English. If anything is unclear, please email us — we will explain it.
1. Who we are
Seniors Kit is built and operated by Vrinda Kathpal (trading as Kit AI), based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
2. What information we collect
Email address — to create and manage your account.
Language preference and text size — to remember your settings.
List of apps you selected — to show your chosen app guides.
Text you type or paste — processed to give you AI responses. Never stored.
Voice recordings — recorded only while you hold the microphone button, transcribed immediately, deleted right after. Never stored.
Location — only when you use it. Two cases: (a) if you tap the emergency help button, your location is added to a text message you send to your chosen emergency contact; (b) when you chat with Kit, your approximate location may be shared so Kit can answer local questions like weather. Your location is captured only at that moment, never tracked in the background, and never stored by us.
Device type and operating system version — collected automatically by our app framework for crash reporting only.
3. What we do NOT collect
Your contacts.
Your photos. The camera is used only for the "Read for Me" feature — the image is processed and then discarded.
Your financial information. Payments are handled by Stripe — we never see your card details.
Any conversation history. We do not log or store your chats with Kit.
4. How we use your information
To run the app and sync your preferences across devices.
To process your AI requests securely through our server (your text goes to Claude AI and comes back — we do not keep it).
To manage your subscription via Stripe.
5. Who we share data with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to make Seniors Kit work. Each one has its own privacy policy linked below:
Anthropic (AI responses) — when you chat with Kit, the message you send is processed by Anthropic to generate Kit's reply. That message may include your approximate location if you have granted location permission, so Kit can answer local questions like weather. We do not keep the message or your location; Anthropic's handling is covered by their policy: anthropic.com/privacy
